To all my new neighbors who have moved to Texas from California . . .
HOWDY, y’all! Welcome to Texas.
In case you didn’t know it, Texas is GOD’s Country.
YEP, you heard me right. Texas is GOD’s Country!
In fact, as far as I’m concerned there are only two places on Earth . . . Texas – and Everywhere Else. And I’ve seen enough of the world to know that there is no place else like Texas.
Obviously, GOD agrees with me because HE picked Texas (Just ask Tanya Tucker). I suspect HE likes Beer and Barbeque and Tex-Mex and Chicken Fried Steak as much as I do. I’ll bet HE even wears Boots and Jeans. And maybe HE even listens to Country Music mixed in with some classic Rock. At least I like to think HE does.
So now that you are here, get to know Texas and your fellow Texans. Put your smart phone down, go outside and take a walk around your new neighborhood. You just might meet some of your neighbors and discover that Texans really are friendly. Get rid of your Tesla or Toyota Prius and get you a new pickup truck (if you ever own one you WILL understand) and get out and SEE Texas.
If you’ve never been to the Chihuahuan dessert in the Big Bend part of Texas and seen it in full bloom after a spring rain shower, if you’ve never seen a Yellow Cactus Rose or a Bright Red Ocatillo Cactus Flower, if you’ve never seen the Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrushes along the back roads in the Hill Country you cannot even imagine what you are missing.
If you’ve never taken a drive out into the country at night where you can see the stars without light pollution, you might be amazed at just how many stars there really are in the sky and you just might realize that they really are bigger and brighter in Texas.
Texas is the land of Freedom and Opportunity. The land of Low Taxes and High Moral Standards. The land where a Cold Beer or a Cup of Black Coffee are just as acceptable as a Glass of Pinot Grigio or a Vente Mocha Latte. The land that California once was – before it was destroyed by progressive ideas and liberal politics (I am assuming that is the main reason you left California and moved to Texas).
Yes, Texas is GOD’s Country.
So, as a fellow Texan, I would like to ask all y’all for one little favor.
PLEASE don’t try to turn TEXAS into a SHITHOLE like the state you just left.
Leave your Progressive ideas and your Liberal Politics in California and embrace the Liberties and Freedom that makes Texas and Texans so special. Remember WHY you left California and WHY you chose Texas.
Texas IS GOD’s Country. Let’s keep it that way.
