On June 12th, the Minneapolis City Council unanimously voted to “dismantle” the city’s police department as their solution to police violence after George Floyd’s death and reallocate the money to fund a new community-based public safety model.. New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, Washington DC, and several other cities have stated their intention to defund the police department and reallocate those funds to aid the minority communities.
Needless to say, morale within Police Departments in cities all across the United States is at an all-time low, with many police officers are seriously considering quitting law enforcement and/or moving from the cities where they live to smaller cities and towns where the feel more welcome. Meanwhile the city leaders of these “enlightened” cities are forming their plans for life in an alternative universe where there are no police.
My recommendations to the members of the Police Departments in Minneapolis and these other progressive cities is to give the city leaders what they want. Why wait for them to finalize their plans? Why enable them in their erstwhile effort to eliminate your livelihood. Give them what they want.
The entire Minneapolis Police Department should resign, effective immediately. Not two weeks from now. Not tomorrow. Not later today. NOW!
This is what the entire Minneapolis City Council voted for so give them what they want. Then sit back and enjoy the fireworks!
How long before there is anarchy running rampant through the streets of Minneapolis? Riots. Burning buildings. Looting. Violence. Murder. Or Worse.
How long before the members of the city council realize the almost infinite magnitude of their stupidity?
How long before these “magnanimous leaders of the left” realize that they are personally responsible for everything that goes wrong in the “brave new world” they have created?
How long before they bow down to their former “servants of the people”, soon to be their new “overlords”, and beg them to come back?
How long before they realize that begging won’t be enough?
How long before they realize that they are no longer in a position of power to decide anything, that they have abdicated that power by their actions, and that the former members of the Minneapolis Police Department are now in the position to tell them how the cow eats the cabbage?
Either that, or they can rot in the Hell that they have created.
I have no sympathy for them. I do, however, have some sympathy for the citizens of Minneapolis, but they DID elect these bozos, so that makes them complicit to some extent.
As the wise man Forest Gump once said “Stupid is as stupid does.”
Maybe, just maybe it’s time for a recall election. Maybe they could get Forest Gump to run for mayor of Minneapolis? Somehow, I doubt it – he’s too smart to fall into that trap.
